Add Network Icon to Taskbar in Windows XP

Usually when a network cable isn't plugged in a network icon with a red cross is shown on the taskbar as to say that no cable is plugged in but when you do plug in a cable that icon disappears.
Here is how to make that icon appear even when the cable is plugged in to make sure that it's working correctly.
Go to Control Panel ,Network connections ,Right-Click the connection that you want the icon for and choose properties.
Now check the option at the bottom that says Show icon in notification area when connected then Click on OK.
Now the icon will appear and you can be sure that you are connected.
