If you want to remove the startup sound when windows 98 loads ,here is how to do it.
Click Start ,Settings ,Control Panel and then go to the Sounds Applet.
Now scroll down and select the Start Windows option in the Program Events box ,and change its sound to None.
Click Apply and then OK.
